Every federal and state solar & battery rebate, feed-in tariff and incentive — by state, with the official source for each. Free, and dated so you know it's current.
Rebate data as at 2 July 2026Australian solar & battery rebates by state — 2026 snapshot
At a glance: the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program (~30% off a battery, delivered as STCs) is available Australia-wide and stacks with the two state battery incentives still running — WA's Residential Battery Scheme and NSW's VPP incentive. Most state upfront solar/battery rebates have closed (QLD, SA, TAS and NT); Victoria keeps a solar-panel rebate and the ACT offers low-interest loans. Solar feed-in tariffs are now modest — roughly 0–10c/kWh, and mostly set by your retailer. Every figure below is dated and sourced to the official page it came from.
| State | Federal CHBP status | State battery / VPP incentive | Indicative feed-in tariff | Last checked |

| NT | Open · ~30% off (STCs) | None — Home & Business Battery Scheme closed (funding exhausted). Federal CHBP only. | 9.33c/kWh anytime; 18.66c peak 3–9pm (Jacana regulated). | 2 Jul 2026 |
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program delivers ~30% off an eligible battery as tradeable small-scale technology certificates (STCs), tiered since 1 May 2026 — full rate to 14 kWh usable capacity, 60% to 28 kWh, 15% to 50 kWh — with the next value step-down on 1 January 2027. Feed-in tariffs are retailer-set except in regulated markets (regional QLD, TAS, WA and NT); ranges are indicative and move with retail plans and STC prices. This is general information only, not financial advice — pick your state above to see each figure's official government or retailer source, and we confirm the current rules for your exact address at a free assessment.
How big should your battery be under the tiered rebate?
Since 1 May 2026 the federal rebate pays less per kilowatt-hour as the battery gets bigger. Drag the slider to see where the value stops.
Indicative only. Calculated at 6.8 small-scale technology certificates per usable kilowatt-hour at an assumed STC price of $37.50, with the tier factors that took effect 1 May 2026 (100% to 14 kWh, 60% to 28 kWh, 15% to 50 kWh). The STC price moves, so treat dollar figures as a guide and the tier shape as the thing to plan around. Eligible systems are 5–50 kWh usable. Your entitlement depends on your system, its CEC-listed usable capacity and your install date. Read the full sizing guide.
The only rebate checker that tells you what you don't qualify for.
Most "rebate checkers" are a form that sells your number to three installers. This one just shows you the money — and the strings attached — before you give up a thing.
We name what rules you out — in the same breath as the money
Victoria's $150,000 income cap and its "no solar here in the last 10 years" rule. The WA and NSW battery incentives that only pay if you hand a VPP control of your battery. ACT's scheme that no longer covers solar at all. A tool that will say "not you" is one you can trust when it says "yes, you."
General information only — we confirm your eligibility for your exact address before you book anyone.A real tool, not a form in disguise
No "enter your details to see if you qualify." Every figure, source and state is visible the moment you land — use it, screenshot it, and leave without giving up your number. The only ask is an optional "book a free assessment," kept clearly separate from the data.
In a category where "rebate checker" usually means a lead form, a tool you can just use is the difference.Every number is one click from the government page it came from
Don't take our word for it. Every figure links straight to the government or retailer page it came from — solar.vic.gov.au, energy.gov.au, cer.gov.au, wa.gov.au and the rest — opening in a new tab so you can confirm the exact number before you rely on it.
Rebates change, so always verify at the source. An honest broker hands you the receipt. The strings behind every "free" and "up to"
"Up to $1,400" in Victoria means up to, income-tested, once per property. WA's and NSW's battery payments apply only if you join a VPP — someone else can then dispatch your battery. South Australia's "free battery" is for SA Housing Trust tenants; homeowners get a different private-VPP path.

More money where rebates combine, and no ghost-chasing where the money's already gone. Both halves matter.
See what actually stacks — not one rebate in isolation
Most sites list rebates as if you only get one. We flag the ones you may be able to claim together — in NSW the federal battery discount stacks with the state VPP incentive (a provider-set amount on eligible batteries); in WA it stacks with the state battery scheme. You see the real combined shortlist, on the sourced state card.
Indicative — combined figures depend on your battery, install date, VPP enrolment and eligibility. We confirm your actual stack at assessment.Sizing to "max the rebate" can quietly backfire
Here's the half most sites hide. Since 1 May 2026 the federal battery rebate pays the full rate only to 14 kWh of usable capacity, then 60% to 28 kWh, then just 15% to 50 kWh — so sizing a battery purely to "max the rebate" can backfire, because the last kWh barely earns anything. That's advice that could shrink our own sale, which is exactly why it's worth reading.
Indicative only — we run the real numbers for your usage before you commit. We name the schemes that are already closed — so you don't chase a ghost
Knowing the money's gone is as useful as knowing it's live. Closed: the NT Home & Business Battery grant (funding fully allocated), Tasmania's Energy Saver Loan (closed 1 September 2025), SA's original Home Battery Scheme, Queensland's Battery Booster, and NSW's Empowering Homes loan. Telling you the money's gone is the least profitable thing a page can do, which is exactly why we do it.
Accurate as at the date shown — schemes do change, so we keep the closed flags dated on their cards. An honest read on every "buy now or miss out" deadline
Being told to buy today or lose out? The federal battery rebate now steps down roughly every six months — the next drop is 1 January 2027 — and the solar STC discount tapers each January toward 2030. But a good system still stacks up after each step-down, so it's worth timing if you're ready — it's not a reason to panic-buy on a countdown timer.
Indicative only — we run the current numbers for your address so you decide on facts, not a deadline.General information only — not financial, legal or tax advice. Each figure is sourced from the official source linked on the card and was current as at the date shown; rebates change, so always verify at the source before relying on a figure. Here's the honest limit of any web page: STC value shifts by postcode, your tariff and self-consumption change the sums, and income caps depend on your household. This checker gives you the shortlist — a free assessment turns it into your number. We check the current rules for your exact address and, where you're eligible, claim the federal battery discount for you at install. And if the honest answer is "wait" or "buy smaller," we'll tell you.
