LG Energy Solution. The engine room.

One of the world's largest battery cell makers — behind the RESU home range and lithium-ion cells used right across the storage industry. Premium NMC and LFP cells, built with Lamination & Stacking pouch design. This is the quality that lives inside the batteries we install.

Why the cell
is the engine room.

LG builds flat, laminated pouch cells in both NMC and, for storage, LFP chemistry — the same cell engineering used in electric vehicles and grid-scale projects. Its RESU home systems carry a 10-year warranty, with Prime models guaranteeing 70% capacity after a decade, subject to throughput limits.

Lamination & Stacking

LG cells use a flat, laminated pouch design that layers the cell sections rather than rolling them. This supports higher energy density and even heat dissipation across the cell — the foundation of long, stable cycle life.

NMC Energy Density

Nickel-manganese-cobalt cells pack more usable energy into a compact footprint. It's the chemistry behind the RESU home range and millions of EVs — proven across some of the most demanding battery applications on earth.

LFP for Storage

LG now manufactures lithium iron phosphate cells at scale specifically for energy storage. LFP runs cooler, lasts longer and offers excellent thermal stability — well suited to daily home cycling.

Proven at Every Scale

The same cell pedigree spans home storage, electric vehicles and grid-scale projects worldwide. Cells engineered for vehicle reliability bring that same discipline to the battery on your wall.

RESU 10-Year Warranty

LG's RESU home systems are backed by a 10-year warranty with strong capacity-retention terms — Prime models guarantee 70% of capacity after a decade, subject to throughput limits. Confidence that starts at the cell.

High Efficiency

Round-trip efficiency around 94.5–97.5% means very little energy is lost moving power in and out of the cell. More of your solar reaches your home — not wasted as heat in conversion.

Where LG cells
do their work.

In homes, the RESU range — the 10H Prime at 9.6kWh and the 16H Prime at 16kWh — uses LG's NMC cells for 5–7kW continuous power under a 10-year warranty. The same cell engineering also runs in electric vehicles and grid-scale storage.

RESU

Home Storage

The RESU range — including the 10H Prime (9.6kWh) and 16H Prime (16kWh) — uses LG's NMC cells to deliver high-density home storage with 5–7kW continuous power and a 10-year warranty.

LFP ESS

Energy Storage

LG's standard LFP pouch cells are now built at scale for energy storage systems — the cool-running, long-cycle chemistry increasingly chosen for home and grid batteries across the industry.

EV + GRID

Proven Pedigree

The same cell engineering powers electric vehicles and grid-scale projects worldwide. That automotive-grade discipline is what sits inside the home batteries we recommend.

Your concerns,
answered.

Mission Green does not sell an LG-branded home battery, because LG Energy Solution is a battery cell and system maker rather than a Mission Green product line. LG is best known for the RESU home storage range and for supplying lithium-ion cells used across the wider storage industry, including electric vehicles and grid-scale projects. As an Australian installer, Mission Green focuses on the quality of the cells inside the batteries we install for your home, and LG is one of the cell makers whose technology can sit at the heart of a quality system. When you talk to a Mission Green advisor, we assess your household energy use, your roof and switchboard, and the rebates you qualify for, then recommend a battery system suited to your situation. The LG cell is a signal of pedigree, not a badge you buy from us directly.
LG Energy Solution uses two main battery cell chemistries. The first is NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt), a high energy density chemistry used widely in the RESU home battery range and in electric vehicles, which packs more usable storage into a compact footprint. The second is LFP (lithium iron phosphate), which LG now manufactures at scale for energy storage; LFP runs cooler, offers excellent thermal stability and is well suited to the daily charge-and-discharge cycling of an Australian home. Both chemistries are built using a Lamination and Stacking pouch design that layers the cell sections rather than rolling them, which supports even heat dissipation across the cell and long-term durability. For Australian households, this means the cell chemistry inside a quality LG-based system is engineered for the long, stable cycle life you need to store solar by day and use it at night.
The battery cell brand matters even though you buy a complete system rather than the cell on its own, because the cell is the engine room of any home battery. It sets the safety, the efficiency and how well capacity holds up over years of daily cycling, so the pedigree of the cell maker is one of the clearest signals of real quality. A premium maker like LG Energy Solution backs its RESU systems with a 10-year warranty and high round-trip efficiency, evidence of confidence that starts at the cell. For Australian buyers comparing batteries, this helps you judge the substance inside a system rather than just the badge on the front. When Mission Green recommends a battery, we look at the cell technology underneath, because that is what determines how the system performs on your wall over the long life you are paying for.

The comparisons and checks we'd run before recommending any battery — including when the honest answer is a different brand, or to wait.

We don’t only sell LG Energy Solution. So this isn’t a sales pitch.

We install LG Energy Solution alongside around 16 other solar and battery brands — so when we recommend it, it’s about your home and usage, not our stockroom.

~16 brands, no quota

We carry around 16 brands, not just LG Energy Solution

Mission Green fits LG Energy Solution alongside roughly 16 other solar and battery brands, so there’s no over-ordered stock to clear and no single-brand margin to chase. When we recommend LG Energy Solution, it’s because it suits your home and usage. If a cheaper or better-suited brand is the honest answer for you, we’ll say so before you pay a deposit.

Bring us your other quotes

Shortlisting LG Energy Solution against other brands? Good — you should. Bring your other quotes and we’ll walk them line by line: what’s genuinely different, where a rival wins, and whether any premium is justified for your home. Sometimes the honest answer is a different brand — and we’ve written the guides that say so.

One accountable installer

One installer, whichever brand you pick

Mission Green designs, installs and commissions your system and coordinates the manufacturer warranty claim on your behalf, so you’re never bounced between the maker and a subcontractor. We’d stand behind any brand we carry just as fully — so choosing never means gambling on who turns up in year four.

MG coordinates the manufacturer warranty and handles claims on your behalf; it does not replace or extend it. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
Independence you can check

Accreditation, not just tone

Mission Green is a NETCC-approved and Solar Victoria authorised retailer working with SAA-accredited installers — the consumer-protection codes we’ve signed up to apply to your install whichever brand you land on.
