Takes around 30% off eligible 5–100 kWh batteries via STCs, applied at the point of sale. Tiered since 1 May 2026: full rate up to 14 kWh usable, 60% to 28 kWh, 15% to 50 kWh — so a single 13.5 kWh Powerwall sits inside the full-rate tier, while stacked units cross into lower tiers. SA Home Battery Scheme — CLOSED
South Australia's state battery subsidy ran from 2018 to 2022 and is closed. If an ad or a door-knocker offers you "the SA battery rebate" today, it's out of date at best. The federal program above is the active support. As at 2 July 2026 — confirmed at energymining.sa.gov.au.
SA's Virtual Power Plant & exports
South Australia's VPP (run by AGL, Australia's largest) offers a free battery and power around 25% below the default offer — but only for eligible SA Housing Trust tenants. Homeowners can instead join private VPPs for ongoing credits. As at 2 July 2026 — see energymining.sa.gov.au.
