Why Fronius is
a top pick for simple roofs.

Austrian Engineering

Fronius is a premium Austrian string and hybrid inverter brand — one of our top choices for simple, unshaded roofs.

String & Hybrid Range

The Austrian-made Symo and Primo series are built on SnapINverter technology — one inverter handles your entire array — while the GEN24 Plus hybrid family keeps a clean battery path open for later.

DC-Coupled Battery Pathway

A compatible Fronius hybrid DC-couples with a modular high-voltage battery like the BYD Battery-Box HVM — the same pairing BYD supports with compatible hybrids from Fronius, GoodWe or SMA — keeping everything in one integrated system.

AC-Coupled Alternative

If your Fronius string inverter is young and healthy, an AC-coupled battery such as the Tesla Powerwall 3 sits alongside it — the Fronius keeps running the solar side while the battery handles storage independently, with no inverter replacement required.

Diagnosable & Serviceable

When something's wrong, a Fronius logs a state code on its display or monitoring app rather than failing silently. We diagnose and service Fronius systems — including ones we didn't install, and ones whose original installer has since disappeared.

No Partner-Badge Spin

We install and service Fronius equipment; we don't claim any authorisation or partner status we can't show you. When we recommend a Fronius, it's because it fits your roof and usage — not a badge, and not a quota.

SnapINverter

String Inverters

The Austrian-made Symo and Primo series, built on SnapINverter technology — one inverter handles the entire array. A strong fit for simple, unshaded roofs with a straightforward layout.

GEN24 Plus

Hybrid Inverters

Fronius's hybrid family with a battery pathway built in. Where the model is compatible, a DC-coupled battery such as the BYD Battery-Box HVM pairs with it directly, keeping solar and storage in one integrated system.

Retrofit

Batteries For Your Fronius

Already own a Fronius? DC-couple via a compatible hybrid, or AC-couple a battery such as the Tesla Powerwall 3 alongside your existing inverter without touching what works. Sometimes the honest answer is neither, yet — and we'll say so.

When Fronius isn't
the right pick.

A Fronius string inverter is a strong pick for a simple, unshaded roof. But we install other inverter brands too — and sometimes one of them is the honest answer.

Heavily Shaded or Complex Roofs

If your roof has heavy shading or awkward orientations, microinverters — like Enphase — or a DC-optimised system can be the better design. Panel-level electronics handle the conditions a single string inverter is worst at.

You Want an All-In-One Battery Ecosystem

If a specific all-in-one battery ecosystem — such as a Tesla Powerwall or Sungrow's integrated battery-and-hybrid pairing — is what you're after, designing around that system can beat bolting it onto a Fronius.

Or No Change at All

If your existing system is healthy and your evening usage is very low, the honest answer can be to leave it alone. We've told households to wait — and if that's where your setup lands, that's the answer you'll get at a free assessment.

Your concerns,
answered.

Fronius is a premium Austrian string and hybrid inverter brand, and for simple, unshaded roofs it is one of our top choices. The Austrian-made Symo and Primo string ranges are built on Fronius's SnapINverter technology, where one inverter handles the entire array, and the GEN24 Plus hybrid family keeps a clean battery path open for later. Because Mission Green installs a range of other inverter and battery brands too, a Fronius recommendation from us is a design decision, not a sales quota: if your roof has heavy shading or awkward orientations, or you want a specific all-in-one battery ecosystem, another inverter — or microinverters — can be the better design, and that's the answer you'll get at a free assessment before you pay anything.
Usually, yes — and there are two honest pathways. If your Fronius is a compatible hybrid inverter, a DC-coupled modular battery such as the BYD Battery-Box HVM can pair with it directly — the same pairing BYD supports with compatible hybrids from Fronius, GoodWe or SMA. If your Fronius is a string inverter without a battery port, an AC-coupled battery such as the Tesla Powerwall 3 can sit alongside it: your Fronius keeps running the solar side while the battery handles storage independently, with no inverter replacement required. Which pathway suits you depends on your exact model, its age and condition, your switchboard and your evening usage, so we confirm it from your actual setup at a free assessment. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program — which cuts around 30% off an eligible installed battery, delivered as STCs applied at the point of sale, current as at 2 July 2026 — applies to both paths. And sometimes the honest answer is that a retrofit doesn't stack up yet; we'll tell you that too.
A red light or fault code is your Fronius doing its job — it has noticed something outside safe operating limits, stopped exporting and logged a state code on its display or in the monitoring app. The same light can mean different things: causes range from grid voltage outside limits and a tripped breaker — cheap or free to resolve — through to isolation faults that need a licensed professional. Note the exact code first: some checks, like confirming your solar supply main switch is on, are safe to do yourself, but anything involving wiring, DC isolators or a fault that keeps returning is not a DIY job. Mission Green diagnoses and services Fronius systems, including systems we didn't install and systems whose original installer has since stopped trading — and if the honest answer is that it's fine and needs nothing, that's the answer you'll get.

The comparisons and checks we'd run before recommending any inverter or battery — including when the honest answer is a different brand, or to wait.

We don’t only sell Fronius. So this isn’t a sales pitch.

We install Fronius alongside around 16 other solar and battery brands — so when we recommend it, it’s about your home and usage, not our stockroom.

~16 brands, no quota

We carry around 16 brands, not just Fronius

Mission Green fits Fronius alongside roughly 16 other solar and battery brands, so there’s no over-ordered stock to clear and no single-brand margin to chase. When we recommend Fronius, it’s because it suits your home and usage. If a cheaper or better-suited brand is the honest answer for you, we’ll say so before you pay a deposit.

Bring us your other quotes

Shortlisting Fronius against other brands? Good — you should. Bring your other quotes and we’ll walk them line by line: what’s genuinely different, where a rival wins, and whether any premium is justified for your home. Sometimes the honest answer is a different brand — and we’ve written the guides that say so.

One accountable installer

One installer, whichever brand you pick

Mission Green designs, installs and commissions your system and coordinates the manufacturer warranty claim on your behalf, so you’re never bounced between the maker and a subcontractor. We’d stand behind any brand we carry just as fully — so choosing never means gambling on who turns up in year four.

MG coordinates the manufacturer warranty and handles claims on your behalf; it does not replace or extend it. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
Independence you can check

Accreditation, not just tone

Mission Green is a NETCC-approved and Solar Victoria authorised retailer working with SAA-accredited installers — the consumer-protection codes we’ve signed up to apply to your install whichever brand you land on.
