The ESA is GoodWe's simplest install — hybrid inverter, stackable LFP modules and 63A backup in one IP66 cabinet, no separate gateway. Lynx Home F G2 is the flexible path: high-voltage 3.2 kWh modules that pair with a GoodWe hybrid inverter (up to eight towers for bigger sites). Both are LFP chemistry from a BloombergNEF Tier 1 inverter maker. The honest split:

Requires joining a VPP under a two-year agreement. Combined with the federal discount: roughly $3,900–$4,000 on a typical 10 kWh battery for Synergy customers, about $6,300 for Horizon Power, as at July 2026. Interest-free loans of $2,001–$10,000 also available (household income under $210,000).

New WA connection rules — from 1 May 2026

New and upgraded solar and battery systems on the SWIS must meet updated standards: inverters up to 30 kVA are allowed on a standard connection, and systems must support remote disconnection — those that don’t are limited to 1.5 kW of export. Synergy’s DEBS pays 10c/kWh only between 3pm and 9pm (2c outside it), which is exactly the window a battery serves anyway.

The ESA Series is a hybrid all-in-one, so it replaces or works alongside your existing setup depending on what's on the roof and wall — exactly what a site assessment settles. A Lynx Home F G2 tower requires a compatible GoodWe hybrid inverter (ET, EH, BT or BH); if you already run one, it's the neatest retrofit there is. In a blackout the ESA's built-in 63A backup keeps essential or whole-home circuits running, with no separate gateway; what stays on depends on the loads running and the circuits your electrician nominates. Connections in Western Australia go through Western Power (SWIS) or Horizon Power in regional WA, and Mission Green handles the network approval and metering paperwork.
