How Jouli Works.

1How to start

There's no setup and no sign-up. Three easy ways in:

• Just ask. Type a question in plain English — “is my bill too high?”, “should I get a battery?” — and hit send.
• Tap a suggestion. Not sure where to begin? Tap one of the starter prompts and Jouli takes it from there.
• Snap a photo. Attach or take a picture of your latest power bill or a solar/battery quote, and Jouli will read it and tell you what it sees.

The more you tell it — your state, who's home during the day, whether you already have solar — the sharper the advice gets. Here's what it can do.

2Bill Doctor — am I overpaying?

Send a photo of your power bill (or just the key numbers) and Jouli checks your usage, daily charges and tariff against what's normal for your state. If you're paying over the odds, it'll say so — and point you to the free government plan comparison to find something cheaper.

3Quote Check — is this solar or battery quote a rip-off?

Got a quote in front of you? Snap it. Jouli reviews the panel and battery brands, system size, price per kilowatt and the fine print, then flags anything that looks overpriced, undersized or too good to be true — so you can negotiate or walk away with confidence.

4Solar Health — is my solar underperforming?

If you already have panels, Jouli helps you sanity-check whether they're pulling their weight. Tell it your system size and recent generation (or share a bill), and it'll estimate what you should be producing and what might be dragging it down — shading, a dud inverter, or just dust.

5Rebates — what can I claim in my state?

Rebates and incentives change constantly and vary by state. Tell Jouli where you live and what you're looking at — solar, battery, hot water, an EV charger — and it'll talk you through what's currently on offer and roughly what it's worth.

6Battery payback — would it pay off?

Thinking about a battery? Jouli runs the numbers on your usage, solar export and power prices to estimate how long it'd take to pay for itself — and tells you honestly if the maths doesn't stack up yet for your situation.

7Energy news — what changed for my state?

Ask what's new and Jouli will catch you up on the energy changes that actually affect you — rebate updates, tariff shifts and rule changes — filtered to your state so you're not wading through the irrelevant stuff.

10Choose your Jouli

You can pick how Jouli thinks, depending on whether you want speed or depth:

• Spark — fast and snappy, great for quick questions.
• Current — the balanced default; smart answers at a comfortable pace.

Jouli is clever, but it can make mistakes — so double-check anything important, like exact dollar figures, rebate amounts or eligibility, before you act on it. Think of Jouli as helpful general guidance to point you in the right direction, not licensed financial or energy advice.
