How Jouli Works.
Your free AI energy mate for Australian homes — ask it anything about your power bills, solar, batteries and rebates, and get a straight answer.
In plain English: Jouli is a free AI assistant from Mission Green that helps you understand your power bills, solar, batteries and rebates. There's no setup and no sign-up — just ask it a question in everyday language.
Jouli can make mistakes — confirm figures before you act. Treat its answers as helpful general guidance to point you in the right direction, not licensed financial or energy advice. Always double-check anything important, like exact dollar figures, rebate amounts or eligibility, before you act on it.
1How to start
There's no setup and no sign-up. Three easy ways in:
- Just ask. Type a question in plain English — “is my bill too high?”, “should I get a battery?” — and hit send.
- Tap a suggestion. Not sure where to begin? Tap one of the starter prompts and Jouli takes it from there.
- Snap a photo. Attach or take a picture of your latest power bill or a solar/battery quote, and Jouli will read it and tell you what it sees.
The more you tell it — your state, who's home during the day, whether you already have solar — the sharper the advice gets. Here's what it can do.
2Bill Doctor — am I overpaying?
Send a photo of your power bill (or just the key numbers) and Jouli checks your usage, daily charges and tariff against what's normal for your state. If you're paying over the odds, it'll say so — and point you to the free government plan comparison to find something cheaper.
3Quote Check — is this solar or battery quote a rip-off?
Got a quote in front of you? Snap it. Jouli reviews the panel and battery brands, system size, price per kilowatt and the fine print, then flags anything that looks overpriced, undersized or too good to be true — so you can negotiate or walk away with confidence.
4Solar Health — is my solar underperforming?
If you already have panels, Jouli helps you sanity-check whether they're pulling their weight. Tell it your system size and recent generation (or share a bill), and it'll estimate what you should be producing and what might be dragging it down — shading, a dud inverter, or just dust.
5Rebates — what can I claim in my state?
Rebates and incentives change constantly and vary by state. Tell Jouli where you live and what you're looking at — solar, battery, hot water, an EV charger — and it'll talk you through what's currently on offer and roughly what it's worth.
6Battery payback — would it pay off?
Thinking about a battery? Jouli runs the numbers on your usage, solar export and power prices to estimate how long it'd take to pay for itself — and tells you honestly if the maths doesn't stack up yet for your situation.
7Energy news — what changed for my state?
Ask what's new and Jouli will catch you up on the energy changes that actually affect you — rebate updates, tariff shifts and rule changes — filtered to your state so you're not wading through the irrelevant stuff.
8The honest promise
Jouli is an honest broker. It'll happily tell you “don't buy”, “wait a while”, or “you can get that cheaper elsewhere” — and it'll route you to the free government plan comparison rather than push you anywhere.
Why's it free? Because Mission Green only earns if you decide to install with us. There's no pressure and no catch — good advice first, always. More on why Jouli is free →
9Voice mode — tap to talk
Prefer to chat out loud? Tap the voice button and just talk to Jouli like you would a person. It listens, answers back, and you can switch between typing and talking whenever you like — handy when your hands are full or you're standing in front of the meter box.
10Choose your Jouli
You can pick how Jouli thinks, depending on whether you want speed or depth:
- Spark — fast and snappy, great for quick questions.
- Current — the balanced default; smart answers at a comfortable pace.
- Grid — our most thorough mode for the big decisions. (Plus — coming soon.)
11Good to know
Jouli is clever, but it can make mistakes — so double-check anything important, like exact dollar figures, rebate amounts or eligibility, before you act on it. Think of Jouli as helpful general guidance to point you in the right direction, not licensed financial or energy advice.
That's it — you're ready. The best way to learn Jouli is to use it, so go on: ask it something about your energy bill and see what it spots.
